As an International Baccalaureate MYP/DP integrated school, Asahi Juku Secondary School emphasizes interactive classes, but also considers training in languages to be important.

On Sunday, September 25, "OHK English Recitation Contest for Elementary School Students" was held jointly with the OHK Okayama Broadcasting Station at KURUN HALL.

There were many performers who used a lot of gestures as well as intonation.

It made me think that there are various ways to express the same content.

The judges said, "The scores of the six children were the same. But there was only one trophy for first place." 

"In the recitation contest you need to show passion, but unlike a speech contest, you can't have too much. A balance is important," he added. 

The MC was Mr. Shinoda, an announcer from Okayama Broadcasting Station, and our first-year female dorm student.

She did not show any nervousness in front of the audience, but there was a sense of tension in the meeting with the announcer before her appearance.

We thank all the children who participated and staff.

9月25日(日)に「OHK小学生英語暗唱コンテスト」がOHK岡山放送局との共催で、OHK本社のKURUN HALLで開催されました。

暗唱だと侮ることなかれ。

抑揚だけではなく、ジェスチャーを工夫する出演者多数。

同じ内容でも、表現の仕方は様々だと考えさせられました。

審査員の先生方から、「6人の児童の点数が同じ。でも1位のトロフィーが1つしかない」という嘆きの声が。

「スピーチコンテストと違い、暗唱コンテストでは、ドラマチックになり過ぎないバランスが大切だ」というコメントもありました。

司会は、OHKの篠田アナウンサーと本校中等部1年の女子寮生。

人前では堂々としていましたが、出演前のアナウンサーとの打ち合わせでは緊張感漂う場面も。

本番中も演題下であくせく原稿確認する場面も見受けられました。

まるで悠々と水面を泳いで見せながらも、水中で必死に足を動かす水鳥のようでした。

9月25日の夜以降、OHKのニュース番組で報道される予定です!!
